A Song 67

At Marine Drive
in Arabian Sea,
Kabir and Tuka
open the door at Peace
to knocks of
a coughing turtle,
a feverish snail,
without rainwear,
dumped by a rowdy July Sea.
Strepsils for turtle,
Vicks Vaporub for snail;
Ms. Parsi prepares a steamy,
ginger tea;
Mr. Parsi brings out ginger
biscuits;
put turtle and snail in bed;
snooze in deep-Sea sofas.
