A Song 71

At Marine Drive
in Arabian Sea,
Kabir and Tuka,
Jasmine and Jehangir,
July mornings in rains,
share tea,
khari biscuits,
with sadaphules
on window ledges,
door edges;
a must
for
cars,
chauffeurs,
corporates,
commoners,
in byes and cheers,
toing and froing,
the Drive;
kitted with
verbs and nouns,
cure
asthmatic breakdowns.
